Bylaws outline the rules of internal operation for a Board of Directors, and because regulations are state-specific, there is quite a bit of variation. We caution against modeling bylaws on a non-Maine nonprofit’s bylaws, and organizations should note that even using another Maine nonprofit's bylaws as a template is tricky, as they may not be what's best for your organization.
